Findaway EP - LAS welcome gift, 1996

This EP is from promotion only and was given to each new member of the Llama Appreciation Society.
The live version of Findaway was recorded at the Wireless studio, Triple J radio, Sydney, Australia on June 17th, 1995 (it was aired on 19th); it also appears in the French bootleg 'Les Enfants Terribles' (Madman, Blind, Undecided, Findaway and Leave Me Out live at the Wireless plus a concert in Newcastle, Australia of 1995).

The second version of Stoned is similar to the first one for the music, Daniel re-recorded the vocals in a studio of Montreal, Canada during late November 1995.
MOM - Music for Our Mother ocean, 1996

Surfin' Bird is a cover of the Trashmen and the Cramps, recorded in less than two hours in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia during late January 1996. It appears on MOM, a compilation which is a benefit for the Surfrider Foundation.

silverchair used to cover live New Race, a song of Radio Birdman, an Aussie band. Their guitarist Deniz Tek joined them at the Baby Monster in New York City, USA, to record it.
Punk Song #2 was recorded with Freak Show but the band thought it sounded too much like Findaway from the Frogstomp album to be included in the new one.

Undecided (not to be confused with the song from Frogstomp) is a cover of the Masters Apprentice, recorded just after New Race whose recording had gone very well. Tek taught it to silverchair in ten minutes; Daniel only sang on it.

Freak (remix for us rejects) was remixed by Paul Mac at Doghair Studios, Newtown and mastered by William Bowden at Festival Studios. Aussie radio Triple J broadcast it for the first time on early March 1997.
Slab (Nicklaunoise Mix) is a remix by Freak Show producer Nick Launay which includes parts of three songs from the album (Slave, No Association and Learn To Hate).

Daniel Johns and Ben Gillies wrote Spawn and the band recorded it at Festival Studios in Sydney with engineer Wayne Connolly. The track was mixed by a U.K. electronic act called Vitro.
